Intel® Fortran Compiler 17.0 Developer Guide and Reference
Another way to organize source code used by several projects is to build a static library (for Windows*, .lib and for Linux* and OS X*, .a) containing the object files for the reused procedures. You can create a static library by doing the following:
From the Microsoft* Visual Studio* integrated development environment (IDE), create and build a Fortran Static Library project type.
From the command line, use the xiar command (on Linux* and OS X*) or the xilib command (Windows*).
After you have created a static library, you can use it as input to other types of Intel® Fortran Compiler projects.
